	*Howdy folks...* Well, if you are reading this it means that you found the new web site. You all know how much I have resisted getting involved with this whole computer based info. Center.. but times change, horses get better, cows are fatter and I just plain ran out of excuses. So download this thing to your hearts content, send it to others, plagiarize, memorize and chastise it. I will continue to send out snail mail notices to specific areas for specific shows etc. As is the custom,, if you don't want this thing showing up on your e-mail just let me know and I will delete you from the list….But will cherish your memory. Let's catch up a little. It has been Nov. since I've let you know what's happeniiin. Lone Pine Film Festival was terrific. "The Campfire Cowboys" gave two really good shows to sold out crowds. All of you who have continued to support the Lone Pine Film Festival and the Film History museum, we can't say thank you enough for making us so welcome. Dave Stamey and I did another concert in the Alabama Hills on Saturday night for Lee and Jennifer Roeser of Mcgee Creek Pack Station and it was one of the highlights of my year. It was so gratifying to see how the people responded to Dave Stamey and his music. His talent and persona just keep growing and endearing him to more and more folks. Whether they are western music fans or not, his talent is undeniable.	The celeb's that attended were having as much fun as the audiences. There is something truly magical about the Alabama Hills, that brings out the best in people. Loren and Jan Janes(stuntman extraordinaire) Diamond Farnsworth, Peter Brown(Lawman) Peggy Stewart, Alex Cord, Ann Francis( beautiful) Paul Picerni (The Untouchable) etc. etc. etc…..were everywhere Good guys Joe "Hoppy" Sullivan and Don "Paladin" Shilling were on hand for everyone's cameras snapping. "BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK" sure looked good on the big screen as did all the films/westerns shown that weekend. The new SCI-Fi panel and the Audy Murphy panel were very well attended, so we can look for more specialty panels in the future. Have to thank Chris Langley for all his work on "Bamboo Saucer", "Tremors" and the sci-fi panel. Golf(in my case "goof") thanks Jacque Hickman and her crew…sunrise tour, horse back rides…mounted shooting, stuff to buy and sell, parades ….Man what a weekend. Put it on your schedule for this fall Oct. 9-12…Don't forget about the June fund raiser for the museum. June 14-15, concert in the rocks featuring "Westwind". This great brass ensemble has entertained all over the globe and everyone is excited about having them perform in "Lone Ranger Canyon". Imagine the sound of !!!! 	From Lone Pine things moved pretty fast for the rest of the year….Senior Pro Rodeo Finals in Reno( sung National anthem, me and Tagger, he's good on the high notes). Calpine, Ca. With good friend John Tyson, Burt Braun's cowpoke event in Loomis, Las Vegas. Texas and all over Nevada and Calif. The ski season got off to a good start and we have been busy as all get out since the get go. Things start to wind up around Easter. Still good snow and lots of fun to be had... Put Tagger in Auburn. Ca. with Charlie Horse at friends Chris and Dave Bugenig. This is the first winter I haven't had Tagger close by and I sure missed him. He has matured into a real nice guy and fun to be around. His eye problems have settled down, not any better but don't think any worst, so we are looking forward to some ridin' and ropin' this summer.	Wish and Pardon have also done a lot of growing up this winter and continue to give us nothing but joy. These two guys have been better than TV. and never cease to amaze us with their antics. So things are pretty good on the home ranch. Lonnie has been busy and now is doing a fair amount of consulting work for other ski related companies. We were in Texas looking at a couple of paint colts. Haven't found the right one yet but have some really good prospects in Colorado. We have always wanted a baby (horse) so we are looking at several new born prospects. Will let you know when the blessed event occurs. Just got back from FESTIVAL OF THE WEST in Scottsdale, AZ. Mary Brown (head wrangler) has told me how great this event is and for some reason my schedule just didn't click with the event. This year Bob Sigman of CATTLEMAN'S TRADING COMPANY, (more about this later) was bringing out his Cowboy Coffee and chuck wagon products to the general public, so I figured I'd better go and keep him out of trouble. Nice event! Lots of space to move around, good vendors, good entertainment, CMSA point event, celeb's and just a darn good western atmosphere. Poured like a monsoon on Sunday but didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits. Thanks Mary (and Rick Felix, the music man) for your hospitality, hope we can do it again.
	Great event coming up next week March 27-30. SANTA CLARITA COWBOY MUSIC AND POETRY FESTIVAL, Santa Clarita, Calif. Folks In my opinion this is the BEST cowboy gathering anywhere so far. All the top names in the entertainment business…from Riders in the Sky, Baxter Black Dave Stamey , Don Edwards, etc. And I get to hang around a little myself. I will be emceeing "The Walk of Western Stars" Gala dinner on Friday night. They will be inducting riders in the Sky, Hopalong Cassidy, Buck Taylor, Bruce Dern and a few others into the walk of fame. Good friends Prickly Pair and Don Edwards will entertain. This is usually a sold out, fancy shhmancy affair(in the tradition of the Golden Boot Awards) so you might just check out www.santaclarita.com Dave will be doing a solo concert at the William S. Hart Museum on the same night(tough choices) and Sourdough will be performing all weekend also. At this writing all concerts are sold out… but go any way…the festival is on the old Gene Autry "Melody Ranch" which is the "Gunsmoke" set and many other movies were and are still being made there. It is the only time that the set is open to the public. The street is dirt, the vendors are in the shops along main street, the coffee is hot and entertainment the best around. There is lots of free entertainment on the outside stages. And some of the featured performers will show up on these free stages from time to time. Great event don't miss it. Home for a few days and then pard…. The daddy of them all….The Single Action Shooting Societies, "END OF TRAIL", Norco, Calif. April 9-13. It's all here…Guns, cowboys, horses, dancin' girls, settlers, settlers, full Wild West Show,	mounted shooting, chuck wagons, music, poetry, celebs, shady ladies, gambling, kids, dogs, anything and everything cowboy. Has to be the largest single action shooting event in the world. Open to the public from 9am-6pm and then only to SASS members and conventioneers. This is more people buckaroo'd up then you will ever see anywhere. Come out and join the fun.. check out www.sass.com Then things really start to get busy….April and May are filled to capacity with schools, schools and schools. This school thing is becoming a lot of fun and I just may think about doing nothing else. The kids are great and the teachers say I'm better than a film strip. Barnes&Noble in Reno..,.April is national poetry month and I will be waxing poetic at 2pm in the Reno Store. I have done several programs for Barnes & Noble and it is a really good atmosphere for stories and poetry to reach the unsuspecting. May 4, I will be in COOL, Ca. for the AQHA RIDE 2003. I have been involved with this ride for the past few years and it is always fun. One of the largest AQHA trail rides in the USA. Come ride with us…check out www.aqha.com . 	Back home to Gold Mountain, Ca.(Grey Eagle) and the Nikoma Resort. I have been doing campfire programs for these folks for the last few years and they are lots of fun. The homeowners assoc. doesn't mind if a few outsiders show up(they might sell you a lot) at this 5 star spa and resort. The DRAGON is one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in the U.S. Check out www.nikoma.com. The summer is going to be too busy again. Rodeos, Hawaii (Kauai) cattle drives, horse drives, team ropin's a couple of ranch rodeos, dog shows ….enough. The "BUY THIS STUFF" page is very important…You need to buy stuff or my dogs will starve, my horses won't have new shoes, and my wife will have to buy her stuff at Sam's Club in stead of Club Med. Lonnie and I were very saddened at the quick passing of Cowboy Poet/Rancher/father/all around good guy, Larry McWorter. He was a driving force in the Cowboy poetry world and gave much inspiration to all those he came in contact with. Our hearts go out to his wife and family. We will not let him pass from our memories. You have heard me talk about this organization many times and all the good things they do for things Cowboy. The nominations have just been announced for the 2003 awards (July 8, 2003 Ft. worth, Texas) and darned if you guys didn't nominate me again for "COWBOY POET OF THE YEAR, 2003".	Can't tell you how pleased I am to be nominated again. Winning the award in 2000 sure gave my ego and my career a big boost. The final voting will occur in the next few weeks. With their "Rope Burns" newsletter and various web sites they will keep you in touch with all things western from coast to coast. I unashamedly solicit your vote once again so that my hat won't fit for about another six months
